Apa itu Doa?

Doa adalah rayuan kepada Allah dalam kalangan penganut Islam. Perkataan “doa” ini berasal daripada perkataan Arab dan maksud perkataannya telah digunapakai di negara ini, sejak kedatangan Islam di rantau rantau nusantara.

Cara berdoa dalam Islam adalah dengan meletak tangan di hadapan anda dan menghadap kedua tapak tangan ke atas. Ia sering dilakukan sesudah solat, sewaktu mengambil air sembahyang, sewaktu makan dan minum, ketika ditimpa musibah atau memohon hajat. Ia juga digunakan dengan beberapa niat pada perbuatan yang baik menurut ajaran agama Islam.

Muslim digalakkan berdoa untuk menunjukkan rasa rendah diri terhadap Allah SWT, selain untuk menunjukkan rasa patuh dan taat kepada suruhan Allah. Doa boleh dilakukan bila-bila masa tanpa had batasan selagi manusia itu hidup dan beriman kepada Allah serta mengharapkan kebaikan dan keampunan dari Allah.

Khasnya doa dilakukan bagi membaiki diri dengan cara meminta ampun kepada Allah dan mengharapkan sesuatu dariNya.
